WITH ACQUA DI SCANDOLA, MARC-ANTOINE CORTICCHIATO TAKES ON THE CHALLENGE OF A MARINE FRAGRANCE THAT BREAKS WITH THE TRADITIONAL TREATMENT OF THE NOTE.
IODINE-LACED, AROMATIC AND MINERAL. PURELY MEDITERRANEAN, EXCLUSIVELY CORSICAN.

A landscape perfume, as surprising as the place that inspires it: the Scandola peninsula, on the west coast of Corsica. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this nature reserve is accessible only by sea.
A refined fragrance, a reflection of three elements:

• The sea, distilled into a unique seaweed extract, with clear and saline facets
  as pure as turquoise water.
• Wild nature, conveyed through the aromatic intensity of juniper and the spicy emanations of immortelle.
• Moss-covered, velvety rocks. Ochre like warm sand. Ochre like skin salted by the sea, kissed by the sun.

The sea is in my blood and Scandola is a magical place, to which I have always returned with fishing friends who know every rock and every crevice. Whatever the time of day or the season,
the colours shift, on the sea side as on the land side. It is these sudden flashes of beauty that drive the perfumer I am. In my ongoing quest for naturalness and clarity, I wanted to express the marine accord differently from
the artificial aquatic molecules that have by now become overused. I found the key in a beautiful seaweed extract, reworked expressly to reflect my vision of the breathtaking beauty of Scandola.
