Sometimes, a chance encounter is all it takes to seal one's destiny. At the end of the nineteenth century, a young woman named Estelle Arpels met a young man named Alfred Van Cleef. She was the daughter of a precious stone merchant. He was the son of a diamond dealer. These two young lovers, brimming with enthusiasm and a conquering spirit, decided to found their own jewellery house: Van Cleef & Arpels.
