Travel as a source of inspiration

Serge Lutens is a highly inventive individual who draws much of his creativity from his travels. For instance, he recalls a trip he made in the 1990s to Japan, in the South Pacific. There, he discovered small shops selling yukatas, from which unusual wisps of incense drifted. He was utterly captivated by that scent, and it became his signature. Likewise, Serge Lutens also owns a home in Marrakech. He loves to retreat there to think and create. It has become his secret garden — a place for meditation and perpetual self-questioning.
