Mitsouko

Mitsouko is part of Guerlain's collection of Legendary perfumes. A collection of iconic fragrances, composed for over a century by 5 generations of Perfumers. Mythical perfumes, deeply innovative for their time, that form a unique olfactory library – an incomparable and unrivalled treasure that the Maison Guerlain is committed to preserving. As a tribute to the heroine of the novel La Bataille, which was a great success at the time, Jacques Guerlain named his creation Mitsouko. A beautiful married Japanese woman, Mitsouko secretly loves a British officer. In 1905, the Russo-Japanese War breaks out. Mastering her feelings with nobility, Mitsouko dignifiedly awaits the outcome of the battle. The incredible idea of Jacques Guerlain, which gives this perfume all its modernity, was to dare the combination of a chypre with a note as fruity as peach. Designed by George Chevalier, its mythical "inverted heart" bottle is accentuated by graceful scrolls characteristic of Art Nouveau. A true technical feat, its avant-garde stopper in the shape of a hollow heart evokes the delicate romanticism of this monument of perfumery.
