To mark this exceptional occasion, the Maison unveils Shalimar L'Essence, an intense variation that concentrates the distinctive codes of Shalimar: its quintessence. A tribute to the modernity, boldness and eternal seduction of Guerlain's most celebrated feminine fragrance.
More than a perfume, Shalimar L'Essence is a declaration of love. That of Delphine Jelk, Creative Director of Parfums Guerlain, to the icon of the Maison's heritage, and above all to its most emblematic note, the keystone of its sillage: vanilla. To the ethylvanillin present in Jacques Guerlain's original formula, Delphine Jelk adds the precious vanilla tincture from Madagascar, born of an ancestral Guerlain savoir-faire, to offer a new intensity to Shalimar without altering its signature.
Discreet and subtle, bergamot illuminates the floral heart, which unites rose absolute with the powdery elegance of iris. Gradually, Shalimar's amber unfolds, deeper than ever. Used in overdose, vanilla breathes new facets into it — at once smooth, woody and slightly leathery.
For Shalimar L'Essence, Guerlain reinterprets the logo of its iconic bottle. A nod to Art Déco, the artistic movement contemporary with Shalimar. Assembled into a graphic and bold logo, the letters are worked in a golden hue that recalls that of the juice itself. Simultaneously rooted in its history and resolutely contemporary, the iconic bottle builds a bridge between the eternal Shalimar and the one of tomorrow.

Born in 1925, the Shalimar icon crosses eras without ever losing its aura. To mark its centenary, the Maison unveils Shalimar L'Essence, a more intense and contemporary interpretation that distils the DNA of the myth: luminous amber, vanilla in its full majesty, the unmistakable bergamot–powdery contrast. Conceived as a return to the beating heart of the legend, L'Essence magnifies the original sensuality while offering a more modern, more textured and infinitely addictive reading.
The olfactory story: from spark to ember
From the very opening, a delicate bergamot ignites the accord, pure as a ray of light. The heart then settles into a floral duo of absolute elegance: rose with a satin-like softness, iris with a cosmetic sweetness. Then comes the metamorphosis: vanilla — worked in all its richness — reveals creamy, woody, slightly leathery facets, before igniting on a deep amber, caressed by silky musks. The signature?
