Eau de Rochas

In 1948, creator Marcel Rochas asked master perfumer Edmond Roudtniska to create a more modern version of Eau de Cologne. This is how the women's fragrance Eau de Roche was born. From its very creation, it featured a bottle resembling a piece of rock. Its fragrance offers a freshness comparable to that of spring water. In 1970, Marcel Rochas's wife, Hélène Rochas, paid tribute to her late husband by naming the fragrance after him. Eau de Roche thus became Eau de Rochas. From that moment on, it ranked among the brand's most iconic perfumes. Eau de Rochas Eau de Toilette is a fresh and aromatic water that evokes a sensory cascade. At once hesperidic, green and woody, its olfactory composition conjures a vibrant and icy spring water. The women's fragrance Eau de Rochas is a classic of elegance and femininity. Delicately applied to the skin, it inspires the sensation of fresh water on skin warmed by the sun. The fragrance is inspired by the beach pyjama, a waist-cinched wide-leg trouser emblematic of the 1930s. It evokes an evening on the Riviera, filled with beautiful, carefree and free-spirited women in the image of their era. In the cool of the evening, flowers release their sensual aromas, mingling with the woody and green scents of the Earth. THE ICONIC BOTTLE OF EAU DE ROCHAS Since its creation in 1948, the bottle of Eau de Rochas has remained unchanged. Indeed, its original name Eau de Roche evokes water trapped within the rock, which bursts forth when the bottle is opened. The women's fragrance features a transparent striated glass bottle, reminiscent of a piece of rock eroded by water. The cabochon takes the form of a sphere evoking a drop of water, or a precious stone. Its transparency allows a glimpse of a citrus-coloured juice that recalls the colour of Eaux de Cologne, characteristic of aromatic fragrances. Inside, water seems to stir – an olfactory cascade ready to spring forth, icy and invigorating. Today, the bottle of Eau de Rochas has a slender form. Its name is soberly affixed in a more modern script than the original. A FRESH AND AROMATIC FRAGRANCE Launched in 1970, the Eau de Rochas eau de toilette for women presents an aromatic and hesperidic fragrance. At the time, Hélène Rochas called upon perfumer Nicolas Mamounas to create the olfactory composition of the fragrance. He crafted a cult fragrance that has remained unchanged ever since. The fragrance of Eau de Rochas opens with top notes of bergamot, lemon, mandarin and verbena. Both sweet and tangy, the citrus notes impart a sensation of elegant freshness. The heart note then unfolds a floral bouquet built around the scents of narcissus, rose and jasmine. Finally, the base of the fragrance expresses its aromatic character with a trail of oakmoss, white musks, vetiver and Sandalwood. Made In France, this fragrance was created thanks to French savoir-faire.
