In 2006, the heroine of a fairy tale by Nina Ricci made her appearance. This pretty young woman was called Nina. A kind of particularly romantic modern-day princess, she left a floral and gourmand cloud in her wake. Nina was a juice reminiscent of a love apple. It then took 10 years for a new fairy to appear within the house of Nina Ricci. This time, her name is Luna. Yet she seems to have far more character today. So, let us focus on this new fragrance that made its appearance from September 2016…

The new perfume by Nina Ricci

If Nina and Luna are compared here, it is simply because the maison Nina Ricci presents them as complementary juices. Indeed, Nina is a sparkling perfume that draws us into a poetic world. Her little sister, Luna, is more impertinent and wild. The creator Nina Ricci even describes her juice as «mysterious, impetuous and sensual». It was crafted by a duo of perfumers made up of Christophe Raynaud and Marie Salamagne. Luna displays her sunny yet headstrong temperament from its very top notes. These release radiant tones of orange blossom combined with the spicier character of pink berries. Everything calms down, however, at its heart. This contains immortelle, a wild plant growing in the Mediterranean basin that releases a liqueur-like and honeyed scent. What is more, a hint of caramel also enriches the indulgent nature of this juice. Luna then rests on a creamier and more unctuous base laden with sandalwood. Finally, the whole is further enhanced by a stroke of vanilla, making Luna a sensual and velvety perfume.

The image of Luna

As for the bottle, of course Luna retains its apple shape. Indeed, this has always been associated with the image of the maison Nina Ricci. Luna thus appears as a forbidden fruit that is almost impossible to resist. Nevertheless, the apple has this time swapped its raspberry hue for an intense and absolutely hypnotic blue. This plays on its turquoise transparency as if to seduce us. What is more, its refinement is taken to its very peak. Indeed, the apple of Luna seems today to grow on a golden branch. This reveals its spray. However, Luna does not forget its rock 'n' roll side and features a leather lace around its neck. On screen, this new fragrance is embodied by top model Jac Jagaciak. She is part of the modelling agency IMG and has already walked for the greatest brands such as Balmain or Victoria's Secret. She joins one of her close friends in real life, the beautiful blonde Frida Gustavsson, already the face of the perfume Nina since 2013. Together they form a duo known as «Les Belles de Nina». Just like the fragrances Nina and Luna, everything sets them apart, yet they remain particularly complementary.
