Bel Ami Vétiver

THE CREATION In 2013, perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena signs his own interpretation of Bel Ami, with a new material: vetiver. THE OLFACTORY NOTES A leathery and woody composition, the Eau de Toilette Bel Ami Vétiver offers a new tonality by combining an intense vetiver, a deep leather and a sensual cistus labdanum. THE OBJECT Inspired by the lanterns of vintage automobiles, the bottle is topped with a black cap echoing the riding helmet of equestrians. As a sign of belonging to the Parfums-Fondateurs collection, the label on the back is illustrated with a drawing by Philippe Dumas. Without disrupting the codes of the past — the same balance, the same affirmed elegance, the same classical structure — Jean-Claude Ellena writes his own interpretation of Bel Ami, distinguished by a new raw material: vetiver. From chypré leather to woody leather: it is the light of a warm, woody and green, barely smoky vetiver that now takes over from the patchouli of yesterday.
