Cerruti 1881 Signature, the metamorphosis of freshness into a peppery eau
At Cerruti, it all began in 1881, when Nino Cerruti founded a textile factory in Italy. This factory never stopped modernising and expanding its activity. Moreover, Cerruti is today considered one of the pioneers of luxury prêt-à-porter. Nevertheless, the brand did not stop there and also succeeded in establishing its reputation over time in the world of perfumery. Thus, as if to pay homage to its history, Cerruti chose to dedicate one of its greatest perfumes to its founding date. Today, the perfume Cerruti 1881 is a true institution. This time, it displays more temperament than ever. A closer look at the new Cerruti 1881 Signature.
Cerruti 1881, the story of a cult perfume
When Nino Cerruti invented the perfume Cerruti 1881, his objective was to recreate the sensation of «the raw freshness of water gushing from the rock». At the same time, he wanted to pay tribute to the creation of the 109-year-old house. It was thus that the grandson of the brand's founder created a perfume that would become iconic. It left in its wake a deeply Italian scent, capturing the brilliance of a moment of refinement, sensuality and intense freshness. Cerruti 1881 is a perfume akin to a Mediterranean day spent in the shade of a cypress or a stone pine to shelter from the burning rays of the sun. Both virile and elegant, authentic yet contemporary, it immediately won the hearts of men. Indeed, Cerruti never stops reinventing it, to their great delight. Thus, Cerruti 1881 successively became Amber in 2002, Eau d'été in 2004, Black in 2006, Intense in 2008, Fair Play in 2011, Acqua Forte in 2013, Bella Note in 2014, Edition Blanche in 2015 and Sport also in 2015. So, what can its eleventh successor have in store for us?
The impertinent masculinity of Cerruti 1881 Signature
The new Cerruti 1881 Signature comes to us in the iconic bottle of the Cerruti collection. This solid parallelepiped has, however, traded its former transparent frosted glass for an opaque, intense black. It is as though the freshness of the past has given way to the mysterious elegance of the contemporary man. Indeed, this is also reflected in its sillage. Cerruti 1881 Signature is a highly contrasted juice that dares to juxtapose elements of intense freshness with darker, more mysterious and sensual notes. It opens with a bold blend of grapefruit, pepper and nutmeg. Thus, the bitter freshness is here paired with a duo of incandescent spices. Then, a leathery accord takes over at its heart, accompanied by cardamom and labdanum. Finally, Cerruti 1881 Signature closes with a sensual base of amber, vetiver and patchouli. The whole delivers a resolutely elegant fragrance, endowed with a natural charisma and a very contemporary style.
Rooted in fashion, Signature heralds a return to the very essence of the Cerruti house.
The new CERRUTI man is undeniably urban and contemporary.
With its new Eau de Parfum, Cerruti offers us a true olfactory signature. Signature is an intense cocktail of spices and pepper, blended with the warmth and sensuality of leather heart notes.
Its sillage is magnified by the green notes of vetiver and pepper wood, which give the fragrance its noble and masculine character.
One wears the Signature perfume as one wears a Cerruti suit — with elegance, depth and charisma.
The Cerruti Man fascinates through his natural charisma and his modern style: he is a free spirit.
