The fragrance is clear, barely tinted, and immediately gives off a citrus freshness (bergamot, cardamom) over a base of tea and musk — never an aggressive or "plastic" smell of alcohol. The signs of a counterfeit

Several details give away an imitation: an unusually low price (CK One remains an accessible fragrance — an offer at a few euros is a warning sign), loose, creased or re-stuck cellophane instead of taut factory film with a tear strip, thin cardboard with blurry printing or dull colours, a light or poorly fitted cap, approximate lettering, a spelling mistake on the box, or batch codes that are missing or different between bottle and box. On the skin, a counterfeit does not last, quickly turns sour or smells of alcohol: the genuine CK One keeps its clean, fresh signature for several hours.
