Blanc de Courrèges is a fairly recent fragrance, dating back to 2012. Yet it symbolises a powerful and historic element of the Courrèges brand. White has always been emblematic of the house. In 1965, the maison presented a memorable collection featuring entirely white garments. Moreover, this event took place in a room entirely bathed in that same colour, from the floors to the walls and ceiling. For the creator, white represents the perfect colour, a tone that encompasses every nuance of the solar spectrum. As André Courrèges once said: "Just as Le Corbusier brought light into homes, I can bring light into my clothes." This essence was born in 2012 simply to symbolise the renewal of Courrèges. The house was taken over in 2011 by Jacques Bungert and Frédéric Torloting, who brought a genuine creative renaissance to the maison's collections, whether in fashion, accessories or perfumery. Blanc de Courrèges is therefore a fragrance synonymous with a new creative momentum.

Iris at the heart of Blanc de Courrèges

To bring this fragrance to life, the two new directors of Courrèges called upon the talent of perfumer Julie Massé. As the aesthetic and name of the essence suggest, this fragrance is an ode to an immaculate white flower: the iris. This is a particularly refined ingredient, among the most precious in the entire perfumer's palette. It delivers scents that are both powdery and enveloping. It also serves as the guiding thread throughout the entire composition. The fragrance opens with an exotic and powerful combination of lychee flesh and pink berries from the island of Réunion. The heart then fills with elegance and femininity, courtesy of the Grasse rose absolute and the Turkish rose essence. Heliotrope, a small violet flower that is soft and comforting, is worked in a surprising way, revealing itself as gently regressive. Finally, the base of Blanc de Courrèges becomes more enveloping, wrapping the skin like a cocoon with white musk, white wood and white amber. White patchouli from Indonesia further sublimates the trail, rendering it carnal and deeply sensual.

Blanc de Courrèges exudes a particular elegance and the tenderness of the iris's powdery notes, which form the central theme of the composition. It was created by perfumer Julie Masse of Mane, who chose iris as the main ingredient.
