Every year since 1994, the Maison Lalique has elevated the art of the flacon to the pinnacle of creativity. This prestigious Flacon Collection 2011, produced in a Limited, Numbered and Signed edition, draws inspiration from both the work of René Lalique and a modernity that has preserved the finest techniques of a noble craft.

An incarnation of ephemeral beauty, the butterfly never ceased to fascinate René Lalique. As far back as the Art Nouveau period, these fragile and elegant creatures adorned jewellery, vases, bowls and many other sublime objects.

Today, it is a cloud of butterflies, oscillating from poppy red to fuchsia, that alights upon the nectar of the Parfum Lalique de Lalique, as if irresistibly drawn by its floral and refined trail. A poetry in motion, fragile and luxurious: Envol.

Capricious, crystal does not yield to every desire. With its nervous and uneven relief, the flacon demands the exceptional expertise of the Master Glassmakers for its unmoulding. Once the crystal has been gathered by hand, each sphere is mouth-blown, then polished with unrivalled finesse. As for the stopper, it is manually pressed, and a final re-firing step will reveal that most particular red. From opaque carmine to transparent fuchsia, the intensity of the colour varies according to the thickness of the crystal and the light that passes through it. A refinement that can be read even in the wings in motion, delicately hemmed. Traditionally wrapped in baudruche and adorned with a gold thread, this Flacon Collection is housed in a new box decorated with embossed butterflies, worthy of a Haute Joaillerie jewellery case.

As every year since the creation of this collection of crystal flacons, the 2011 edition contains the exquisite Parfum Lalique de Lalique, a floral and musky bouquet created in 1992. A profusion of velvety petals radiating from the very first second. A bouquet of rose, jasmine, wallflower and iris that envelops the skin with a singular elegance. Then, the trail settles on a subtly fruity tempo. Wild blackberry, juicy pear and blackcurrant leaves offer a sparkling and joyful echo in the heart. Finally, the score of white musks distils its enveloping melody alongside the irresistible vanilla and Mysore sandalwood. A concentrate of noble materials, ever so contemporary, which continues to attract seductive women who love fragrances with character.
